Last night we had many new additions to our pen pal club! The first- this completely restored Remington typewriter. Isn't she a beauty?
Second, Jenny who painted a watercolor portrait for her penpal. We're happy to have an artist in our group.
And last but not least, Clare's daughter Ruby. This girl has a natural inclination to craft. She wasn't shy in the least, and jumped right in to our project.
For last nights project, we covered matchboxes in paper and washi tape. We had old sheet music, kraft wrap, pages from old issued of national geographic, and origami paper. Members talked about filling the box with notes, candy, and confetti for their pen pals.
Each is a little piece of art. I loved seeing all the different ways people incorporated the tape and various papers into their box.
Jenny even carried the night's theme to her envelope decorating. Looks great!
Tootie's envelope featured this beaver drawing she found in an old magazine. The meeting was a huge success, we talked and crafted well into the night. Thanks to everyone who came.
