Giveaway!

All the drama with the studio is finally over! It was such an ordeal, I will think long and hard before I sign another lease. I want to thank you guys for bearing with me, I know I haven't been on top of my game. First, because of the studio and then I was sick all last week. I feel like I've been sick for most of January. That's all over now and I'm 100% better. It couldn't have come at a better time either, because Katie and I are going on a road trip this weekend to northern California. I'll get to visit my favorite spots. I'm so excited! Tony and Nat can't come because they can't take any time off work- but Katie has Monday off. The benefits of being my own boss are seemingly endless. Can I take Monday off? Yes! Anyway, I am finally getting around to organizing the mess of my studio and I came across these scientific study note sets. You may remember I made these for that special show at the Academy of Sciences? I went on the hunt for old science books and made envelopes out of my favorite images. I made 10 sets but had these leftover. They are yours for the taking!
Looking through these books really reminded me of being in grade school. We did such fun projects, went on great field trips and even went for a week in the snow for science camp.
I have three sets left, so I'll pick three winners. All you have to do to enter is comment with your favorite part of elementary school. You can also tweet (@paperpastries) or blog about this for an additional entry, just leave that link in another comment. I'll pick winners when I get back from my trip. Giveaway closes Monday February 14th. Good luck!

  18. one of my favorite memories of elementary school was when my friend laurie & i used to ask to skip recess so we could stay inside and wash chalkboards in the french room. we would wash the boards but mostly we would turn on french music, put on lion masks and pretend we were lions dancing and singing in french. it was so funny at the time.

  20. I have many favorite memories. One of my proudest might not seem, at first, like something good. I was in Catholic School and had a single mom that I was constantly reminded of by taunting students and obnoxiously judgmental teachers/priests/nuns/etc. One dress down day a student said to my 1st grade teacher, "Why can't we dress down all the time?" The teacher replied, while grimacing at me in my black spandex unitard with different color florescent stripes, "Because sooome students don't know how to dress". It was so very Harry Potter, and at the time felt terrible, but now that I am a uniquely interesting grown up, I think haha ha lady. I was odd, and my mom was busy trying to raise me on her own, I was werking it!

  22. Hi!
I'm Jennifer. I bought postcards from you guys in LA at the last Renegade Fair.
My favorite part of Elementary school was my school teacher who was married to a man who own a circus. He used to bring animals to the class like baby tiger, snakes, chimpanzee. Once a school kid and I we hold a snake that was 15 foot long? (as I remembered). Crazy right? My teacher was great and open-minded. I felt close to her because I always thought I was different. She let me sometimes doing my things like making clothes to my scissors with packaging. I have to say she was amazing letting me express my self. Today, I'm a Fashion Designer and I'm glad she did.
