Gifted No. 4

I've decided this blog post can be called gifted as long as it's something I received or gave as a gift. It was just Allie's birthday and since she is a California girl down to a T, I had to give her a beach themed gift. I found these seashell mini stamps on etsy.
This fun waves print is by Scout's Honor Co.
I found the seahorse baggu at ReForm School in Silver Lake. I find it much easier to shop for a gift when it has a theme. Anyone have any tips or tricks for gift buying? I'm already starting to think about holiday shopping.

Shop Update No. 2

Just got these super cute wine stoppers in. Adorable!! Great as a housewarming gift.
Recipe writing stamp set- ever since we started working on the registry I've become quite the happy home maker. Now if I could just master a recipe...
But who are we kidding?  I'll always be crafty, just not the kitchen kind. That's why I love this happy little glue stamp.
A couple more ink pads in some unique colors- like pumpkin spice.
I also retook the mini ink pad photos because I didn't think the colors looked right.
Any excuse to break out the small object stamps :)
A big improvement! Try, try again right?

Shop Update

Introducing mini ink pads! These are a really great size and a fraction of the cost of our larger ink pads.
We used to travel with our regular sized ink pad, but it took up a lot of space in our mail pouch.
Now we can pick three colors, where only one used to fit.
Choose from 12 vibrant colors.

Pin Money Vol. 11

Every time we go for a trip up to Northern California I have to make a stop at Daiso Japan. Most items are $1.50 but can range up to $10.00- that's the highest price I've seen. They carry a wide range of stationery items so I always like to stock up on their adorable letter sets.
I'm always using box cutters and I can carry these mini ones around in my purse. These heart tacks look so much like runts candy to me.
Mini scissors, face punches, and cute envelopes.
I got these fringe scissors for Tootie- she's crazy for fringe and these will make her projects go by quicker.
Office circle labels turn into fun polka dot stickers.
A small self healing cutting mat, office erasers and correction tape. A pretty good haul :)

Vintage Paper Fair San Francisco

At the beginning of this month, Katie and I went up to San Francisco. We were technically there to see Allie, but we also stayed with my soon to be in laws and went to the vintage paper fair. We are true multi-taskers :) We always go to the vintage paper fair in glendale but have never been to the fair in SF. The building it was held in (in golden gate park) was a lot smaller than the civic auditorium, where it's held in Glendale. I liked it more, seemed more manageable. I'm always on the hunt for postcards and I found tons of great ones. Above are some of Santa Cruz from the 50s and 60s. Some more I found:
I found these check off versions really funny. "don't worry about me " "stomach out of order"
They are really affordable, most are .25 cents. Some of the older ones can run up to $6 but I just don't buy those!

Gifted No. 3

Receiving birthday cards in absolutely one of my favorite parts of my birthday month. They arrive different days which makes it more fun for me.
Some even get hand delivered- this 3d postcard blew my mind.
Virgie gave me a pretty french notebook and double ended pencil- I just couldn't resist pairing them up with the set I received from Donovan.
Katie got me Kindle and loaded it with a ton of books she think I'd like. She even made me a manual on how to use it.
She also got me this blush. It's beautiful in person! The pearls are so pigmented and have a bit of shimmer to them. I love it all!

But Snow and Graham is always my go to. I am very excited to announce that Paper Pastries now stocks S&G cards in the shop! Katie and I pored over every single card they make and picked our favorites. You'll find birthday, wedding, congratulations, thank you and more. Just a sample of what's in store:

Gifted No. 2

I'm sharing some more of my fabulous birthday presents today. Erika, who knows my love for packages and cosmetics, found this incredible gift: Birch Box. Each month I get a whole new batch of products, they send a sample and if you love it you get a discount on the full size version.
My first box contained rose water, designer band-aids, luxurious soap, a lip and check stain, and perfume.
The Friday before my birthday was a rough day. Just everything went wrong since the moment I got up. All that changed when I finally got home and checked my mail. I had something from Donovan- not only a package, but a birthday present! I forgot all about my bad day as soon as I got that package up to my apartment. Can you believe this wrapping job? There is a loop for the pencil to hold it in a secure place. And that chicken/egg ribbon? So good! An expert wrapper.
The fun didn't stop there- inside the package was a letterpress notebook from hammer press, a gift log, recipe cards, plus a multi colored pencil.
My friends sure know how to spoil a girl :)
