Call for Guest Bloggers

The wedding is in less than 3 weeks. I'll just say it's a bit chaotic over here. We didn't want to forget about our readers so we're hoping to get some guest posts lined up. Could you be one of them? If you'd like to find out more you can check out our guest blogging page here, or you can email any questions to paperpastries (at) gmail( dot) com

Recent Favorites No. 33

What a cool view. Yoko and Ryan are always up to something awesome.
Old main streets make me wish I could go back in time. If only to drive one of those cars!
Pretty clouds out of clay.
I think my last batch of favorites included some jelly fish but what can I say? I can't get enough.
Oh, the city of lights. When will we meet?
Floral patterns always catch my eye.

Favorite Shop Series Pt. 12

It's been a while since I've allowed myself to go "virtual" window shopping. Sometimes you just get sucked into a shop and start imagining where in your home you'd put certain objects. That's what happened to me when I came across the etsy shop Rue Des Louves.
The whole shop is filled with beautiful vintage wares for your kitchen and home.
Usually in a shop, I can find one or two things that I'm interested in. In this shop I found over 20! I had to look away. Maybe after the wedding...

Gifted No. 8

My pen pal In New York, Nicki, sent me a box of treats last week. Mini nail polish, sinful butterscotch candy, a cute camera tray, and the bride's thank you note handbook.
It is a neat little book filled with a lot of helpful advice.
It even has sample thank you notes for specific gifts. So thoughtful! Thank you Nicki, my "bride brain" found these tips very useful :)

Sent with Love No. 15

It's crunch time and I've been up to my neck in wedding crafts. Luckily, I've had the help of friends, either actually help me make something, or calming me down after one of my freak outs. It's times like these when you need your friends more than ever.
This weekend Tony and I are headed to our friends' baby shower. I found this adorable card at Stripe in Santa Cruz. It's a pop up card and each of the letters and icons are cut out. Isn't it incredible?
I was able to find time this morning to send some long over due notes. I'm still returning letters I got in September. Usually I'm not this disorganized! I blame being a bride...
Annoying Customer is dressed as a mummy. I just don't know how he puts up with this. He's amazing!
My letter to Kate includes some photos. We've been swapping photos now for about 6 months. It adds a little something extra to our letters.
These new stamps are a favorite. They are called "Earthscapes"
Each one has a caption of what it is. The inland marsh is so cool!
Whenever I send an international letter I like to use a variety of stamps.
I've got a good pile of mail to put out tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend!

I think because I wrote a review of printstagram, I was given the chance to sample prinstabooks. Their website is very easy to navigate. Another important aspect for me was that all their products are made in the US. Also, $1 from every order is donated to Alzheimer's research. I placed my order on Tuesday and everything arrived about a week later. I could choose from all of my instagram photos but I choose the ones related to letter writing and pen pal club.

In addition to a book, I also got some prints.
Right away I could tell the print quality was good, certainly better than the experience I had with printstagram. I'm not crazy about spiral books but I do recognize them being an affordable option.
I was very happy with the customer service, turn around time and print quality of Prinstabooks. If they added another book option (not spiral bound) I'd love to order another.

New Product Mini Ink Pad Sets

The mini ink pads have been so popular, customers have been asking for more colors. When looking for more colors I came across these sets. I picked my 6 favorite color combinations. You can find them in the shop here.
I think the best set is pop, but it really depends on the project I'm working on. I'm sure love me do will be the favorite when Valentine's Day comes around.

New Product - Save the Date Custom Stamps

I first saw this idea in Martha Stewart, about 10 years ago. It was always in the back of my mind.  I thought I'd use it for my own save the dates. I always pick up vintage postcards whenever I come across them. One day I was looking at my pile of them and realized I needed to put them to use! We are happy to now offer custom save the date stamps in many different styles. It's really a great idea. You can use the stamp on thick paper, vintage postcards, new postcards, or get photo postcards printed. Above, the San Francisco Style.

Wedding Talk No. 9 black and white?

26 days and counting until Tony and I are married! I am in a crazy way now, if I ever was. We requested wedding portraits from friends and family and they have been pouring in. I love seeing vintage photos, especially of people I actually know. Not all are vintage, but we are loving every one. We plan to display these at our reception.
We are getting really excited! I'm trying to decide if we'd like any black and white portraits. I think I prefer color. Thoughts?
