Sent with Love No. 21

Even though I had sent out a bunch of Valentines earlier in the week, I also sent some extra special packages to some extra special people.
I had some small gifts to include along with some candy. Is it really Valentines without some chocolate? I think not.

I forgot to tell Erika- I found this magnet at the DDR museum (GDR; German: Deutsche Demokratische Republik[ˈdɔʏtʃə demoˈkʀaːtɪʃə ʀepuˈbliːk] or DDR) in Berlin. This was the only typewriter available to the people in the German Democratic Republic- the east side of the Berlin Wall. I was actually able to type on it.  It’s adorable!
I also got some fun nail polish for Billie. She admired my manicure when we had lunch and wanted to know the colors. I found them for her.
I used bags from whisker graphics, rubber stamps, and a label maker.
In addition to some Valentines, I also had some thank you notes to send. Another successful mailing :)

New Product - Vintage Postage Stationery Sets

We have a lot of new products to share! These upcoming debuts were products we wanted to add to the shop before the holidays, but since we were so busy with the they are now.
We found vintage letters that had these beautiful postage stamps affixed to their envelopes. The letters had nothing to do with one another- each one was from a different country. We couldn't bear the thought of these being in a dark box forever so here they are being given a new life!
After being carefully removed, they were flattened, then glued to sturdy, flat cards.
We quite like them :)
You can find the set of 5 cards + 5 envelopes in our shop.
And I don't say this enough, but thank you for reading this blog!

Sent with Love No. 20 - Valentine's Edition

It's the most wonderful time of the year again- time for Valentines! I love, love, love sending out Valentines. One morning I gathered up all my supplies and went to work.
Red + pinks, hearts, and glitter- what's not to love?
This year I was lazy again...I bought all my cards instead of making them.
These are from paper source, Lulu Mae, and various online shops.
I love picking out cards, as soon I see the perfect one, I am reminded of a friend.
Sometimes, more than one card reminds me of someone so they get 2 :)
2 is better than 1, right?
One day I'll make my outgoing envelopes all look different- this time it felt like they all needed to be similar. I used my handy alphabet stencil, red colored pencils and markers, rubber stamps, and red washi tape.
Are you sending Valentines this year?

Buried Treasure No. 15

These are from our good friends, Daniel and Jessica's wedding. I love coming across old photos, don't you? Well, these aren't exactly old- just under two years but I have not seen them since I got them developed. I took my holga and wide angle cameras to shoot with. I was sure to get a good seat to get a shot of Jessica coming down the aisle. She's always so happy + pretty, but she was especially that day :)
The aisle was strewn with white rose petals. The smell was divine!
A toast to the 'cool kids' table.
Their gorgeous wedding cake.
And the funnest part of the night- the hora. My foot was broken at their wedding, so I wasn't much on the dance floor, but it was fun watching them from the sidelines. I love weddings but when it's someone you're close with, it makes the whole event so much more special. Who will get married next?? I'll be sure to take my cameras :)

Fika !

When my friend Stacy asked me if I liked Fika- I thought it was a sugar substitute- like splenda! I was wrong :)
After she explained what it was, I said "Of course, what's not to like?"
While perusing the market cafe at IKEA last week I came across this fika recipe book. Isn't it amazing?
I love all the photos and the recipes sound delicious! I'll want to try some of these recipes for our annual tea party.
Where can I get some sugar cane?
You can find the book at your local ikea- it was $9! Hardcover! Ikea is insane.

Shop Update

It's been a while since there has been a shop update, but one is finally here! Introducing the most darling little shape stamps.
I couldn't decide between a dot and a heart so I made both.
I've been making personal stationery for myself for days.
The heart even made it onto some Valentine's treat bags.
I've been having fun with my less used ink pads too. As a side note, this past weekend Katie got me hooked on the tv series SHERLOCK (it's on instant watch) Needless to say- I'm obsessed! You can enter the lead character's name to get 10% off everything in the shop. The code is good all week. Some more shop updates coming soon.

Gifted No. 12

When we arrived back home from our honeymoon, I had a huuuuge pile of mail from December to go through. There isn't so distinct a package as one from Miss Victoria Vu. Of course, I opened that one first ;)
It was a sweet little note and a 2013 pocket calendar. I'm so lucky, you spoil me, V!
The cover is letterpress printed in mint, it's amazing.
It's just the perfect size to throw in my purse but sturdy enough to not be destroyed. Thanks so much, V!
If you fancy one for yourself, you can find them here in the paper & type shop- and it's on sale, you lucky duck!

I've been a fan of POKETO's online shop for many years- so I was extra excited when I found out they were opening a brick and mortar shop- right in LA! Katie and I went down to the art's district to visit the shop in person, a few weeks after they opened. Poketo's tag line is "art for your everyday" and I couldn't agree more. They find the best of ordinary objects (like a tea pot) with such modern+simple design, it can't help but be an art piece. They stock everything you could ever want- toys, apparel, accessories, home goods, stationery, and books. I am looking forward to shopping here every time I need a gift for someone- or myself ;)
A few shots from around the shop:

Poketo Flagship Store

Or shop online. You won't be disappointed!
