Recent Calligraphy

I met Emily a few years ago. A friend of a friend, who eventually became my friend. She moved away, we lost touch, but I was so excited to see her again and find out that she was engaged! Not only that, but to a German. The best German I ever did meet :) She and her fiancĂ©, Stefan, just happened to be in Munich the same time we were, so we got to see her on our honeymoon. I was lucky enough to work with Emily on her wedding invitations. Now, as her wedding date is rapidly approaching, I am working on her escort cards.
Emily made these envelopes (they are flattened, easier to write on) out of marbled paper. Aren't they gorgeous?
I love how each one is unique and different.
I had some trouble writing on these textured papers, they kept feathering and the ink would disappear or clump. Finally, I found a white that worked.
For the lighter colored papers, I mixed a custom blue ink that matched the navy of her invitations.
I also got to write some for us. We will be attending her wedding in a few weeks. I am so excited!
