LA Cake Club

I came across The Crepes of Wrath Funfetti cake while catching up on blogs and knew I had to make it for this month's L.A. Cake Club!
Like most baking, you have to use a ton of butter.
Tony and I baked this cake together and I was panicking because we started less than 2.5 hours before we needed to leave for the club.
We decided to use only one kind of sprinkles for the inside.
They came out perfect!
And they were so easy to get out of the pan. The trick is to cut a piece of parchment paper to line the bottom of your dish.
Double vision :)
There were so many delicious treats there, as usual.
I always say I'm only going to have a bit, but then I go overboard! So, so good.
I invited my friend Toni and her boyfriend Ian. They really brought it! I thought their cake was the most beautiful.

CatCon LA

CatCon LA was this weekend. It was so packed! So many cool vendors, cat adoptions, product demos...you name it.
Here are some of my favorites-
I've been fans of Little Friends or Printmaking ever since the first time I saw their work at a Renegade Craft Fair. Any friends of rescue pets is a friend of mine. They have some great new products, check them out!
Xenotees bags and pillow cases are Otto + Milchy approved :) They are always all over them.
I got every cat I know a Polydactyl catnip toy. They are so cute- sugar, sushi, peanuts, pickles. I got to see four cat's reactions to them- they went NUTS. I will definitely be getting more of these.
Purpose cat litter is my favorite and I haven't used anything else since I discovered it. It was so nice to meet the team in person and they had a relaxing lounge area to hang out.
Always good to see Kate Funk- she had some of her 2016 calendars available. I was able to get one for me and a few for friends.
Stay at home club was completely sold out by the time I went by their booth.
A new discovery, Blunder Puss makes some of the best cat tees I've ever seen. We had to get this one that looks like Gennady Jr.
Living in the meow- cute shirts and helping cat's find forever homes! A+++
I tried to get some pusheen but the booth was so packed that I couldn't get in at all! It was madness.
Otto also got a Whisker Box, and he loves it.
I also was obsessed with Katris, tetris shaped climbers+scratchers, the perfect gift for your spoiled kitty!
I'll definitely go next year. See all the vendors here.

CatCon LA and Cat Note Printable

CatCon LA is this weekend in downtown LA. Thanks to Purina Purpose, I will be there.
You guys know, Otto and Milchy are such a big part of my life. I love them like crazy and I don't hide it. I also am crazy for mail. Often, my love of cats and mail overlap. When our Cat template debuted back in November of 2013, it was very well received. We are now happy to offer a free printable version of our it! You can download it here to print at home.
(check out my instagram for more current pictures of O + M)
It's very easy to do. Save the file, and when you print it, do not scale. I just printed it "fast draft." Then, cut it out.
I like to use a piece of cardboard and a box cutter to make the two slices.
Then crease and fold. The center will hold a 4bar card if you need more room to write.
There is a special way to fold it. Side flaps first, then the bottom. The ears and nose tuck into the slits.
This is what it looks like when it's folded and tucked in. It fits into a four bar envelope, and holds a 4 bar card. If you would like to send it without an envelope, just seal up with washi tape.
I printed out a bunch of versions, but this polka dot paper is my favorite.
You can use an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper.
Imagine all the things you can do with them!
Please share with the tags #sendmorecatmail or #paperpastries- we can't wait to see!
Who else is going to Cat Con??
